From cgiar-collaboration ilriwikis

This is the workspace of all CGIAR centres and programs keen to collaborate in Ethiopia

As of 2016, 11 CGIAR centres (Bioversity, CIAT, CIFOR, CIMMYT, CIP, ICARDA, ICRAF, ICRISAT, IFPRI, IWMI and host centre ILRI) are present in Ethiopia and on the ILRI campus in Addis Ababa. This is a great first step towards more country collaboration.

In addition, as part of the second phase of CGIAR Research Programs (CRPs), site integration/country collaboration plans are being put together for each of the 20 CGIAR focus countries. Ethiopia is one of the 6 priority focus countries among these 20. This is a second good reason to focus on CGIAR collaboration in Ethiopia.

Donor reforms are also increasingly requiring cooperation among more and more (national and otherwise) partners, while operating with maximum efficiency. CGIAR collaboration has to be on the rise, and not only within CGIAR but also with a host of national partners at various levels of operation.

For all these reasons, this work space is for all CGIAR centres and programs working on integrating (some of) their research activities and other operations in Ethiopia.

On this workspace you can find information about:

  • The site integration plan as part of the CRP phase 2
  • Ongoing or past initiatives to bring about collaboration
  • Ongoing collaboration meetings between CGIAR centres
  • Past events that focused on CGIAR and national system collaboration and integration
